Arbitration is another way of resolving financial disputes in family law.
Unlike mediation, the Arbitrator decides the outcome. It is like appointing a private judge. The process is very flexible. Decisions can be based on documents alone. There can be oral evidence given (like in a trial). It is a more efficient process and takes much less time than going through the Family Court. Waiting times at court are around 4 years. An arbitration can be completed in weeks.
Colin is an approved Arbitrator.
Mediation is a facilitated negotiation process. It enables people to discuss issues in a safe and comfortable environment. Not only can mediation help people reach agreement, but it can also provide lasting positive changes. Mediation helps people get to the heart of issues.
Colin charges $3,500 per day plus GST for a mediation or "mediation-style conference". That covers whatever issues you want to discuss. It is possible to resolve financial and parenting issues in one session. The set cost includes pre-mediation sessions, where he will obtain some background information and can answer any questions.
Arbitration packages are tailored to suit your needs. They are based on the same daily rate above.
